Before you book any particular cottage it’s worth searching for reviews and write-ups on the cottage you are thinking about staying at. You can find these on the internet in web forums, or on articles that may have been written by a critique. There are also sites dedicated to giving honest reviews and opinions on holiday cottages and bed and breakfasts all over Australia. Be careful where you check as some websites or forums may be owned by the cottage owner giving you false advice trying to sell you their accommodation. Good places to check would be on a tourist information website or a write-up in a newspaper article.

Another important factor to think about is the surrounding area. The brochure may not tell you if there is anything nearby that might put you off booking their cottage. Things to think about is the size of the surrounding area, are you staying in the middle of a town, or perhaps your cottage is in the middle of knowhere. This may be what your looking for but ensure that your not in the middle of a rough area, in some smaller places sometimes the locals don’t welcome visitors to well.
